There’s something extra special about working with families I’ve had the privilege of capturing before, and this session with Tori, Robbie, and their little one, Rani, was no exception. I’ve watched their family grow, and it’s always such a joy to document their story again. The comfort and trust we’ve built over the years made this session feel effortless, and that’s what makes working with repeat clients—who feel more like friends—such a rewarding experience.
Toddlers bring their own kind of magic (and challenge) to any session. There’s so much energy, unpredictability, and, yes, the occasional stubbornness. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. The playful, spontaneous moments that come with toddlerhood are exactly what make family photography so meaningful. Watching Rani run around, explore, and show off her vibrant personality was pure gold.

One thing that really stood out during this shoot was the patience and grace Tori exhibited. Motherhood is a constant balancing act, and capturing the quiet strength it takes to guide and nurture through the tough (and fun) moments was a true reflection of her role in this family. It’s an energy and dedication that only mothers know—one that’s all about being present, even when things don’t go exactly as planned.

The playground was the perfect setting for this energetic family to show their true colors. Whether it was climbing, laughing, or playing hide and seek, each moment was full of life. Sessions like this remind me why I love what I do—documenting real, raw moments of connection and fun that will last a lifetime. I’m so grateful to continue working with Tori, Robbie, and Rani, and I can’t wait to see where their journey takes them next.
