This maternity session was one of those that just clicked—the kind where everything feels so true to who the people are in front of the camera. When I showed up, it was clear this was going to be a laid-back, easygoing session filled with so much love.
We started right outside their home, which felt like the perfect place to begin. The yard was lined with these massive trees they’re planning to take down soon, and they wanted to document them before they were gone. These trees, though they might seem like small details in the grand scheme of things, are the foundation of their story right now. They represent the space they’ve built together, the life they’ve created, and the memories they’re making as they prepare to welcome their little one. Capturing this moment felt like a beautiful way to honor where they are in this chapter of their lives.

From there, we wandered down their street toward the waterfront. The calm water with boats gently rocking felt like the perfect backdrop. It was a quiet reflection of the way they are together—so comfortable, so in tune with each other and their world. It wasn’t about getting perfect shots, it was about capturing the essence of them—the love, the excitement, and the joy of this moment before they become a family of three.

One of my favorite parts? The skateboarding. Dad’s really into it, and it was important for them to capture that part of who he is. It felt so effortless—like we didn’t have to create a moment, it just happened. Watching dad glide down the street, you could see how much skateboarding means to him. And with baby Ollie on the way (yes, named after the skateboarding trick!), it felt like the perfect way to bring that part of their life into the session.

This session was a true piece of their story, one they’ll be able to look back on for years to come. And honestly, that’s what I love most about what I do—being part of these quiet, beautiful moments that mean everything to the people living them.
