Family Life in Motion

Spending an afternoon in downtown Port Jefferson with Annie and her parents was pure joy. We kicked things off at Rocketship Park, a favorite for families in the area. Slides, climbing structures, open space to run - it was the perfect spot for a toddler to burn off energy while we captured real, playful moments.

From there, we wandered over to the Port Jefferson ferry terminal. There’s something about the water, the boats coming and going, and the small details of the docks that make it such a unique spot for family sessions. Annie was full of curiosity, stopping to explore little things along the way, and those in between moments are exactly what I love to document - life as it really is, unscripted.

To end the evening, we popped into Frigate for a little sweet treat. It’s a charming candy spot in Port Jefferson, and it was the perfect way to cap off our slow paced, playful session. Took a minute to sit outside and enjoy their bag of family favorite candy.

This session really shows why downtown Port Jefferson is such a great spot for families. Rocketship Park offers movement and space, the ferry terminal brings texture and curiosity, and Frigate adds a little local flavor and fun. For families visiting the area or looking for a session that’s full of life and movement, these spots offer a mix of play, exploration, and those small, everyday moments that make family life so memorable.
